We’re currently accepting applications from local pet sitters and dog walkers in Washington Heights, Harlem, the Upper West Side, and Inwood. Whether you’re a freelancer, remote worker, or student with a flexible schedule, this could be the perfect side gig or passion project.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
May 2025 Update: We're Hiring!Pets and the City NYC is growing fast, and we’re looking to bring on 5–10 amazing new sitters and walkers to support our client base in Upper Manhattan. If you’re experienced, kind, and passionate about animals, we’d love to hear from you.

Requirements
🦴 At least 1 year of hands-on pet care experience
🦴 Based in Washington Heights, Harlem, Upper West Side, or Inwood
🦴 Flexible schedule
Ideal for students, freelancers, remote workers, or those with part-time jobs
🦴 Open to providing a variety of services: dog walking, drop-ins, daycare, and possibly overnights
🦴 Must be reliable, communicative, and professional
🦴 Must have a smartphone and feel comfortable using text, apps, and client communication tools
🦴 Willing to complete a background check
Pets and the City NYC will conduct interviews and verify references for all applicants.
Not Required But Preferred
🦴 2+ years of NYC pet care experience
🦴 Ability to host pets in your home for boarding or daycare
🦴 Rover Star Sitter status or other platform recognition
🦴 Open to overnight care or live-in house sitting, especially outside your immediate neighborhood
🦴 Comfortable with pet transportation via subway or Uber Pet
